WeLearn Academy was founded by educator David Doran as a project-based alternative to traditional schooling, focused on entrepreneurship, real-world skills, and learner-driven education rather than a conventional curriculum structure built around fixed subjects and grade levels.
That project-based, entrepreneurial philosophy is a genuinely different approach from nearly every other school in Bangkok, most of which follow a recognized national curriculum like British, American, or IB with standard examination pathways.
WeLearn is also the co-founder behind the newer Sequoia Nova International Primary School, which opened in 2025, extending its learner-driven philosophy into a more structured Common Core and French bilingual primary framework through that joint venture.
