Shrewsbury Bangkok carries a genuine, direct affiliation with the 500 year old Shrewsbury School in the UK, rather than just borrowing the name, which means its curriculum, pastoral structure, and house system are modeled closely on the original English boarding school rather than built from scratch for the Bangkok market.
The school operates two campuses, a riverside site and a second City Campus in Huai Khwang, giving it more flexibility on location than most single-campus Bangkok schools. Families choosing between the two generally weigh commute against campus facilities, since the original riverside site has more space for sports and outdoor activities.
Academically, Shrewsbury follows the English National Curriculum through IGCSE, then A-Levels rather than the IB, which is a meaningful distinction from several of its British-curriculum peers in the city. It has built a reputation as one of the more academically competitive British schools in Bangkok, with strong university placement outcomes.
